Mate Rimac left the keys sitting right in his Bugatti Chiron at the open Rimac campus in Croatia. Some guy just walked in spotted them and drove off in the hypercar like it was nothing.
Rimac jumped in his Porsche 911 and took off after him tracking the Chiron the whole way with the car telemetry. The thief crossed from Croatia into Slovenia and then into Austria before police finally stopped the car.
When they met at the station Rimac decided not to press charges himself. He even offered the guy a ride home to his family. He did admit though that he is done leaving keys in cars at the factory from now on.
Wild story right? Sometimes the richest guys still learn the hard way.
